Visa extension

Hello,
My I-94 will expire on 11th september and I want to request for an extension
I don't know how must I apply for this request, Shoud I go to the office or Should I send it directly to chicago USCIS office?

if my extension is approved, they give me that until the date when I asked for the extension or they will give me another 6 months?
I ask it because I'm looking for tickets and there are somedays more expensive than others

If they give extension, they will give till the period you asked and not further six months.
