my fathers surname is wrongly spelt on my mothers passport ( an extra 'h' is included to the surname ) instead of 'talla' it is spelled as 'thalla' ... will this anyway affect us while applying their visitors visa to US... do i need to apply for re-issue again... please do suggest me.

I would have the passport corrected. You do not want any incorrect information on a passport which is used to verify identity.
