  • Parents visa rejected at Chennai consulate "Disallowed without prejudice"

    Hi,
My parents visitor visa was denied in Chennai Consulate on 1/18/06.The visa officer didn't ask any questions other than how many daughters are there and where they are right now.Based on this she denied the visa and stamped it saying 'Disallowed Without Prejudice" on passport.

My parents visited US twice before, but not sure on what basis they rejected it.I wanted to check with you to see, Is it common to stamp with "Disallowed without prejudice" incase of visa denial?

Can they again appear for visa interview in next couple of months? Is there a possibility that, they might be asked not to apply for a certain period if incase they deny again?

    Appreciate you help and advise!

    hi

"Disallowed without prejudice" is not uncommon. They must have put this stamp on the previous visa page which is already expired. anyway they cannot travel on the old stamping.

Moreover if your parents have only 2 children and both live outside your parents home country. their ties back to home cty is not established. They can definately apply again provided they have some change in papers from prev application. you anyway will not get an appont till may 06.

    Not legal advice!
