  • Original Birth certificate

    Hi

My husband is sponsoring for my parents and his parents. He doesn't have a birth certificate. All that he has is a copy of a statement issued by Indian embassy (in Singapore), declaring his parent's name, date of birth, place of birth.
My Original birth certificate is available.

    My questions are
    1. How important is the original birth certificate. a) For sponsoring his parents and b) For sponsoring my parents?
    2. Is the supporting document from Indian embassy is good enough?
    3. What else he should have if the statement from Indian embassy is not sufficient?

    Thanks
    Pisa

to sponsor ur parents, u need to send ur BC only. For his parents, he needs to send his BC.

If he doesn't have a BC, try to get these as well.

    1. Non availability cert. from local village or municipality
    2. get a notarised copy of his first page of matriculation cert.
    3. Affidavit from his parents/relatives stating that he was born on this and this date.

You also need to send them a copy of your marriage certificate to establish his reltaion to your partents.
