    Short term summer job

    I will be staying with friends in the US for 2 months over the summer and would like to be able to work while I'm there to cover the cost of the flight.
    I'm a degree level student from the UK and my friends are US citizens.

    My experience with US beurocracy has been less than fun in the past and I really don't know where to start with this one; none of the visa descriptions I have found on this site appear to suit what i need.

    Any help is appreciated.
