  • Mother-in-law got visa (Delhi)

Thanks to the guidelines on this website! They were very helpful. My mother-in-law got her tourist visa from the U.S. embassy in Delhi recently.
She submitted the following documents at the counter on arrival at the consulate: DS-156, DS-157, my invitation letter, I-134, and the employment verification letter from my company providing my salary.
During her visa interview, following questions were asked:

    1. Why are you going to the USA?
Ans: For tourism and to meet my younger daughter and son-in-law.

    2. Do you have any other relatives in USA?
    Ans: No

    3. Can you show me a copy of your daughter's US visa?
Ans: Here it is (she handed a copy of my wife's visa)

Officer: Thank you. You will receive your passport and visa by courier in 3 business days. (She received it in 3 days)

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks!!
