  • Valid supporting documents to VFS ?

After getting the appointment date, one of the PDF generated is a label that needs to be affixed to the envelope to be mailed to VFS. Below the label is a checklist of which one of the items (#4) called "Supporting documents (as per visa class)" is pretty generic. Which documents constitute as supporting documents ?

I am sponsoring so along with the I-134 do I include all the proof documents for it too (W2s, paystubs, bank statements etc) ? What about the letter to the consulate ? And the invitation letter ?

The way I see it all of them are supporting documents. So should I just send all the paperwork that I have ?

What I am confused about it what constitutes the necessary supporting documents and which ones should be shown only during the interview if asked ?

        Supporting documents

If you have taken appmt at mumbai consulate the the supporting docs have to be taken only at the time of the interview even if it is mentioned in the checklist. It is missprint as confirmed by the VFS official when I submitted my applications last week. I had carry copies of all the supporting docs with my 4 application and they said it is not required. They took
        1. HDFC receipt-consulate copy-yellow label
        2. DD for Rs.2300
        3. Original DS156
        4. Original DS157
        5. Passport copies of first and last page and remarks if any.
        6. Interview letter
        7. Checklist.

I'm going to send everything ...

The note says the follows :

"Supporting documents: Photocopy of the rest of the documents mentioned above, photocopy of passport, photocopy of all the documents sent by your sponsor in USA."

That seems to imply that all the following documents should be submitted with each application ...
            1. I-134 (I guess a photocopy of the notarized original, original should be taken with the applicant to the interview?)
            2. photocopy of paystubs (supporting docs for I-134)
            3. photocopy of bank statements (supporting docs for I-134)
            4. photocopy of stock value (supporting docs for I-134)
            5. photocopy of last 3 years income tax returns of sponsor (supporting docs for I-134)
            6. photocopy of original birth certificate if applicant is less than 14
            7. photocopy of letter of invitation
            8. photocopy of visiting card for the employed
            9. Letter to consulate with details of visit
            10. phocopy of property papers
            11. last 3 years' income tax returns of applicant

But according to "going2usa" all his supporting documents were returned to him ? I wonder why ?

I am thinking of including all that I have mentioned above since I would rather send everything than worry about whether I missed anything.

Immihelp, does the list above seem to account for all the documents as recommended on the web-site ?
