My mother-in-law is in India and is unable to stand and walk due to paralysis. She is not getting proper care and so, we would like to bring her to the USA so we can take care of her. My I-485 is pending and my priority date just got current and we got RFEs for revised medicals.
1. Is it possible to get a visa for her in this situation?
2. Is it mandatory that she has to attend a personal interview in the nearest consulate?
3. Do airlines allow passengers that cannot stand or walk?
4. Is it easier to get the visa after we get the green card? (Not sure if she can wait till then)
5. Last option – if we move back to India temporarily for a year or two to get her on a proper care system, then can we still maintain green card as an exception?
If anyone has come across similar situation, please share your experience.
Thanks
