  • Applying for B2 with an expired GC and I-407 acknowledgement

    Hi All
I'm starting a new thread because this is a unique category of B2 Visa applicants with their own special background.

    This is the background.
I(45)/Wife(40) was in the US on H1B/H4 from 1997 - 2000, on GC/GC from 2000 - 2003, left the US in 2003, was on Re Entry Permit until 2008

I never visited the US from 2006 - 2015 ie till now

After returning from the US I have quit work and am a Voluntary Worker and Trustee of a Public Charitable Trust involved in Social Work and Yoga(Yoga/Pranayama, Prayer, Meditation and Service). I am involved in this Organization on a daily basis.

** I am starting a new thread to seek help/suggestions for folks with nothing but Voluntary Work profile in India on how to answer the Work related questions in the online DS-160 **

I recently submitted the I-407 by surrendering both the Green Card and Re Entry Permit for myself and wife to USCIS and got an Ack from them registering the Change in Status

Our kids are US Citizens going to High School in India

We have our own home here, fair amount of financial assets yielding healthy monthly income, Insurance and other social ties

Now, we would like to make a family trip to the US purely for Tourism and meeting old friends

We plan to make a Self Sponsored trip, only we shall stay with a friend purely for convenience and ease of tourism

Purely from viewpoint of such a Visa History and my Work Profile in the past 10 years after returning from the US, how difficult would it be to get a B2 visa of both of us?

Experts, Experienced and Enthusiasts, kindly share.

    Thanks
