Can DS 156/157 info be corrected after online submission?

Is it possible to change some of the information that is entered wrongly by mistake, while the information is submitted online, for forms DS 156/157 while fixing an visa appointment thru VFS? It prompts to take the printout of DS 156/157 (with barcode) submitted online and take during personal apperance. But what to do if I want to do some changes in the forms? Any help on this please?

First 14 fields of DS 156 are NON editable. Other fields can be edited online.
Also u can take a blank copy of these forms, fill it manually and take it with u. Let the officer know abt the corrections as well.

If you need to edit the entry, Editable columns must be done before the interview.

You can update them at the VFS web site.

It will be available for editing for a period of one month from the date you took appt.

Should I go to https://www.vfs-usa.co.in and select again 'Apply for a Non-immigrant Visa' and enter the HDFC bar code number and proceed to edit the DS 156?

Yes, u will see a link "retrieve/Modify application" after u enter ur receipt number and passport details.

Hi,

I am in the process of filling the DS 156 and DS 157 forms for my mom on VFS, as of now I have filled DS 156 and I have the following questions.

1. One of my friend mentioned me that DS 157 is not required for females . And he also said that he didn't fill DS157 for his mom when he applied last year. He also said that he didnt filll the same for his father also since he is above 40 yrs.

My mom is around 60yrs old. So, is it not necessary to fill DS 157? In that case, will I be able to take an appointment date, because it shows me both DS156 and DS157 on the VFS webiste..(looks like it is compulsory to fill DS 157 too)

On my latest screen after filling DS 156, it shows DS156 and 156 with a checkmark beside DS 156 .Bottom it shows "Delete applicant" and "Save Application and Exit". Incase I dont need to fill ds 157 how do I go from here?? SO do I need to fill DS 157 too?????

2. On DS 156 #39, what should be my answer? " Was this application prepared by Another person on your behalf? " I am supposing this is "Yes" because I am filling it for my mom. , please let me know if I am correct or wrong..
