  • DS-156 Form Help??

    Hello,

Question about Nonimmigrant Visa Application DS-156 Form:

I am applying for a Tourist Visa for my Parents ( Father: Businessman Mother: Housewife) and interview date is 12th April, 2006

I have question about DS-156 Form. Somebody filled this form for my parents in India.
After they have submmited this form and took appoitment, i have asked my parents about
    the DS-156 form.

In the DS-156 form, they mentioned following...

Q:22 When do you intend to arrive in the US?
(Provide specific date if known )

    - 12th May'2006

Q:26 How long do you intend to stay in the US?
    - 10th July'2006

Q:27 What is the purpose of your trip?
    Visiting my son

can you guide me what kind of possibility for getting the visa becuase of the
exact arrival date and duration date ( instead of putting 4-6 months ). and also they mentioned purporse of trip: Visiting my son.

Please help me how can we tackle this issue? what kind of question officer might ask
and what will be the answer?

    Thanks,
    Jayesh Patel

    Hi!

stating 2 months OR 4-6 months does not make much of a difference. When my parents had been for the interview they had stated 4 months. My mil had 6 months and they did question her why so long she wanted to stay away from home. So I think 2 months is also fine.

I am not too sure but I thnk you can edit and submit the form. However I would recommend not to change too much of the details in the form. May be you can just add "visiting son and tourism"
