Bank Statement Format?

Hi Everone,

I'm planning to apply for my parents visitor visa for US and currently in process of preparing documents. I want to know what should be written on the bank statement given by the bank??

Can anyone pls tell me what should i ask my bank(Bank of America) to write on their letter head?

Secure a letter from your bank for Consular Purpose. It should include your current running balance and opened since.......

Hi!

Just ask for the bank account verification letter and they would put in the details needed. If they don't then ask them for your name, account#, date opened, average/running balance etc. on their letter head.

Thanks for the reply ppl . Today I went to my local Bank of America branch. and they gave me "Verification of Deposit Request Form" and asked me to fill this form and send it to a 900 fax no that will charge me 10$ in my phone bill.

Can anyone plz tell me is this how i'm supposed to get the bank statement??

I read somewhere in this forum that local bank would call the customer service and give all the details to them and then they would mail the bank statement..

The form that the local officer at BOA gave me says that this form should be used only to obtain a varification letter of deposit on a bank of america customer who has applied for a mortgage loan.

Plz tell me how do i proceed abt this.

THis is what I did.

I went to the local Bank of america branch and told the rep. there that I need a Bank verification letter for immigration purpose. They have a standard format for this. She took my acct. number and told me that I will get the letter in one week. They don't create the letter in the branch. I got it in 9 days. They charged me $10.

But the guy at the bank told me that i need to fax this form to a 900 no. right now i cant make a 900 call from my phone(its a VOIP phone). what should i tell the ppl at BOA local branch so they can take the 10$ from my account and send me the letter in a week?

I am not sure why he said though. Try to talk to another rep. in the same branch or try another branch.

I really can't imagine how uninformed these guys can be. I'll try to talk with some other representative at local branch.

Although this has nothing to do with the Bank statement still wanted to share this with ppl here and see what they say abt it. I came to US around one yr back and and got a secured credit card from BOA and from last 2 months i started getting lots of credit card offers in mail so i thought seems like i got a decent credit card history so its time to apply for a regular credit card and you know what the guy at local BOA branch told me today? "We don't issue credit cards to ppl who are not Greed Card holder Or not citizen."

Donno why BOA has been having problems issuing the bank statements too. Have heard so many cases.

For Bank Verification Statements:

Wachovia: they have specific format for acct verification (immi) purpose. So they will not give you at the branch....Charge $10 or $15/Statements...you will get in 10 days

Bank of America: Same thing they will not give you.....$10/Statements...will get in 10 days

HSBC: they will give you at any local branch.....$10 ( but sometime you can get free..depends on the branch..)...Immediately...

Chase: They will also give you at any local branch ( no idea about $ )

Commerce 8: They will also give you at any local branch ( no idea about $ )

Citibank: No idea right now...but will find it out and will post it here...

BOA gave me as per my request and w/o any charge

BOA gave me the statement on their letterhead and they gave me three copies free of charge and within 5 min after I walked in and requested the manager. It was suprising and they let me give them the format.. guess I am lucky...

This indicates that BOA has no rule in giving this letter.

yes, BOA has no rule....some branch charges and some dont.
