B2 visa

I currently have a B2 visa and was given 6 months to stay here in the USA. I would like to know if my trip here is limited to that 6 months. If so, can I re-enter the US in less than 1 year of being out of the USA.

I have heard that if you have recently visited the USA and plan to re-enter in less than 1 year from the time of your exit the USA, they would not admit you to the country. Please advice is this story is true.
