ESTA Denied, B-2 Approved, Can I enter by Air?

I was denied an ESTA in 2013 due to a previous overstay and have been told I will never be approved again.

Today, I was approved for a B2 visa.

I am currently in Canada so can enter by land if need be but I just want to know if I can fly into the U.S. despite not having an ESTA? When I previously worked in the U.S. on a H2b visa, I was required to obtain an ESTA as well.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
