For Americans getting an Indian visa in the normal way, I know it's more painful (and takes longer) if you've ever held an Indian passport.
Is the same true for the ETV option? I think it's crazy that you can't apply more than 34 days in advance (so you can't reasonably buy tickets more than a month in advance), so I haven't finished the process yet.
Is it quick and easy to get an ETV if you're a former Indian passport holder? Do you need to submit proof of relinquishment of your Indian passport somewhere in that long series of forms?
