Bank of America - Balance statement issue

Hi,
My mother has an appointment on Feb 14th. On Jan 19th I called BOA 1-800 number
and requested the bank balance statement and the person on the phone said it
will be mailed in 2-3 days.

On 28th i received a letter saying they could not process it because it cost $10 (if they told me upfront, i would have gladly accepted)

On the same day, i went to the local branch and requested the form and they
said it will come in 2-3 bus day.

(1) Will it come really in 2-3 days or it takes about 10 days(from people experience)?

(2) To avoid the risk, is it good if i send all my 1 year worth of mothly satements to my mom now and when the bank send the letter, send it also?

You can go to local branch and get it. They have $10 fees for it.

By rule, bank letters are done at head offices, not at local centers. But some people are getting it from local branch also. BOA has no standards in giving this letters, it seems.

I waited almost 9 days to get my letter.

Also I guess u meant to say $10? and not $410?? :-)

No need to send 1 yrs stmts. Last 3-4 months will be enough. Also u can get the latest account summary printout online which shows ur acct number and current balance.

I went to 2 local branches - they said cannot do it, it has to be apllied and will come in the mail.
Corrected the amount to $10.

I will in trouble if it is going to take 10 days :-(

In the worst case, u can fax the doc or scan it and send it so that they can take printout.

Consulates requires original documents not fax copies.

Yes fax copies are not accepted.

But if the originals can't be send before interview date, there is no other option. I don't recommend postponing the interview just because this letter is not original. In most cases, the officer don't even ask for this. They will see what ur balance is on the I 134 form.

I agree but I know a case where they were sent back becoz they mentioned that they do not accept fax copies. May be scan and send it and they can take a print out which would look more like a photocopy atleast.

hi my parents also have the appointment on feb14th at delhi embassy.if u do not get the letter till 8th or 9th just scan it and send.sometimes the colored print out of scan is like originel and no difference.no need to fax..scanning is the best option .which consulate is yours?????

Get the statements from BOA website !

Most banks have their last 6 months to 1 years statements in PDF format online. Just sign-in onto BOA's website, download them and print them off.

In fact you can e-mail them to your family back in India and they can print it out.

I will either send my original monthly statments for 6 months or try to print from website if it is better.

Planning to send all the documents by this saturday via UPS express (5 days).

When is your mom's appt? Hope you have time. Incase you don't FedEx is the best. I sent on Fri 6:25pm and it was delivered there Mon 1noon (Sun night itself my time).

fedex is the best just 3 days to chennai ..mine took 4 days to reach amritsar in punjab..all the best to you for your mothers appointment
