Need help - Mom and mother-in-law come to visit

My mom and mother-in-law wants to come together to visit us. Is there anyone has the same situation before. If they go to apply for visa, will the embassador easily rejected one of them? Should it be easier for parents of one of us apply together rather than mom+mother-in-law? Please advice, urgent.

Thanks very much for the information. Can I ask one more question that when your friend sponsor her mil and mom, how did she prepare the documents from sponsor? Did she give two separate documents to her mil and mom or she prepared the doc as a couple( her+her husband), and then just give the same copy to her mom and mil?
