my father has visa interview apt on 5th apr, i have following questions regarding it:
1.my father is ex army personnel, i have mentioned it in D-157 form, his last name in army book and later now in other documents is different( it is malayali in army book, now is madathil).i forgot to mention it in D156 where they ask about other surnames..
can i modify the info in the form?
has it to be changed in the passport, if yes how long does it take?
getting an affidavit stating that the person with these 2 surnames is same..will be sufficient?
2. i had tried to reschedule the appt date, i never got an earlier date, as i used to exit , it used to show, application is saved for one month then it will be deleted.
how have i to save it till april? can i take a print out of both the filled forms and the confirmation letter now itself ?will that mean that i cannot further try to reschedule the appt?
3. i had forgotten to mention that my father had worked as a sec officer for 7 years after retiring from army. have i to put taht info now in D157 or can i just leave it? will it be a reason for rejection that from retirement till date he was not working?
4. will being an ex army affect his chances of getting a visa?
i would greatly appreciate reply for such a long query.
