Affordability of US trip cost

Hello all,
I am sponsoring for my parents trip to US including the tickets. I filled myslef as the one to pay for the trip in the forms while getting the appointment too. I am hearing a couple of posts where visa is rejected since the visitor cannot afford the trip cost. Is this correct? Should I transfer any money to my parents account and then let them show that as the balance? Thanks!

CO looks in detail who is sponsoring and bearing the cost of the trip. If asked visitor also has to prove he has sufficient funds available for the trip. Bank account showing recent deposits will not be counted as you think.

Thanks for the reply. I am providing documents on my bank balance and recent pay stubs to indicate that I can afford to pay for my parents tickets. My parents as such do not have any major income except pension. They can show evidence of a property and some minimum bank balance. It is not clear to me on what you suggest to show from my parents side that they can pay for the ticket. In my situation, they cannot really pay for it. Please help and suggest. Thanks a lot.

Hi!

Don't worry.....it's not that they would reject if the visitor is not able to sponser the trip themselves. I sponsered my mil and parents and both the times I stated that I was sponsering the trip.

Put your parents name there ONLY if they are able to sponser themselves coz they will have to prove it there else put your name.
