  • Wife's documents while sponsoring in-laws visit

    Hi,

I will be sponsoring my in-laws visit to USA. I am on H1b and my wife is on H4. Few questions about the required Visitor Visa Sponsor Documents

    1. As per my understanding, the invitation letter and letter to consulate must have my details and my name/signature and not my wife's. Is this correct?
    2. Copy of Passport - I will be sending my passport copy for this. Will they require my wife's too?
    3. Copy of Passport - Do we need to send them the copy of our old 'cancelled' passports as well(The latest visa is stamped in our current passports)?
    4. Birth Certificate - From what i have gathered so far, only my wife's original birth certificate is required here, Not Mine. Is this correct?
    5. Are there any other documents that my wife is required to send?

    Thanks
    Amit

Visits are self sponsored. I 134 is mostly useless. Whatever you will do have little weight if in-laws do not have self means to sustain themselves and ties to their country.
