  • Parents' visitor visa - Need tips

My parents will be re-appearing for tourist visa interview next month (mar 2006). Their visa was rejected in oct 2005. They visited US in 1997 and returned in 6 months without any visa extensions. A couple of questions:

    - for oct 2005 interview, in affidavit of support, I mentioned that my spouse is also working [partially dependent]. Would that have caused visa rejection? (Maybe the CO thought that they are coming here for baby-sitting?) What should I write in my new affidavit of support?

    - do I really have to send in my original birth certificate for the interview?

    - any other tips would be appreciated..

    thanks

    1. I don't think so.
Just write the truth in the affidavit of support.

    2. Yes.

      My Parents Got Visa

Yesterday my parents had visa interview and got their visa [don't know the details yet; the passports would be returned by courier].

The officer didn't just asked the following:
      - was your visa rejected last time?
      - who is in US; how many sons do you have; are they married?
      - are you working?
      - how much pension are you receiving?
      - ok you can pay the fees in the counter.

She never cared to see any of the documents I sent
