  • Changing status from J1 - B2

Hi - I'm currently applying to change my status from a J1 - B2 and have a couple of questions I'd really appreciate getting some help with.

    1. I don't have an A - number is that right? I only have an I-94 number, so it's ok to leave that blank?

    2. If I have a DS2019 then i have D/S status - is that right?

    3. In part 2a that's where I put the end date of my J1 and that I want to change to a B2?

    4. In part 2b that's where I put B2?

    5. Do i apply electronically and pay a SEVIS fee and also apply via mail with a check attached to the form? I couldn't find the correct mailing address for that from the list. Does anyone know which is the correct address?

Any and all info and help is so gratefully received! I want to make sure I get it right before sending out and not to miss anything.

    Thanks for your time
    Natalie

Change of status from J1 to Visitor (B2)

    Hi Natalie,
Did you able to change your status from J1 to B2? I am currently in the same situation as of you.

    1. I hope you were also having 2year waiver approved as of mine before applying the change of status. Can you please guide me the exact process of change of status from J1 to B2?
    2. For how many months do USCIS approve the B2 visa and what is the time frame for approval?
    3. In addition to I-539 what other documents are required for J1 categories change?
    4. Where to send the application (physical address)?

Please reply me at your soonest or whoever have came across this issue.
    Best,
    Rajiv
