Advise on B2 Visitors visa

Hi, I have a situation, I am presently in the US on L1 visa and my wife would be shortly joining me here on her H1 visa.
My son would also be accompanying her (he is been stamped as dependent on my wife's H1 visa). Now when my Family travels to US
we also want my mother in Law to accompany them,so want her visiting visa to be processed.

So for applying for the visitors visa, as I am already in US should I officially invite her or can we apply for the visitor visa keeping my
wifes H1 as reference and stating she would be accompanying my wife and son during their travel to US? Please let me know which
option would be better in this situation?

You can sponsor your mother in law. Because your wife doesn't have any pay stub or bank account in USA.
