  • correction in D156 and D157 forms

i had filled the forms online for my father on dec 20th. i have got an appt for apr 5th. i am expecting my baby in march end. my mother has her visa.
i have realised that i need to bring some changes in the info i have filled up in both the forms.

    in D156:
i need to include another surname my father has in his pension book, under" other surnames".

    in D157:
i need to include the school info under the educational details.
    info about his last employment.

    what are the options?
i cannot cancel this appt as thats the earliest i have got so far.
can i take back to back print out , make the corrections and then mention this at the time of interview?

    any suggestion is appreciated.
    thanks

    Try this out

    Hello,

I had a similar issue and I was able to update the information filled in the forms around 24 hours after the appointment was taken.

    Go to the appointment site

which lets to fix a appoinment, here choose 'Retrieve/Modify saved applicaiton option', it lets you view the forms you filled in earlier. There are some details it does allow you to update here. Try them out. After you are done , try to view the filled forms or download them to verify. If this is not possible , you may have to call vfs.
    Good luck!

Yes, u can edit forms online for a period of ONE month from the initial date you took the appt. I don't think u can change/add names though because the first 14 columns of the DS 156 are non editable. So take a printout of the DS 156 and manually fill with correct info. Let the officer know of these changes while going for interview as well.

U can edit DS 157 educational details for sure.

IN addition to the print out of the online form that u've filled, take a new blank printout of DS156 and manually fill all fields.

thanks for the info, i could edit matters in D157 form but not in d156 form, i am going with ur advice of taking the print out and filling it manually and producing it along with print out of onlineform.
how do we get a print out of blank D156 form?
              thanks again.

Did you try calling up the VFS????

They may be able to update it internally...

Let me know how it goes.

I am sure it will be on the USCIS website. But don't know the exact link. I have a copy with me. So if u can send ur email id, I will send it to u. OR its here? https://www.immihelp.com/us-visa-app...n-form-ds-160/

You can download a copy on immihelp itself at

This copy is more correct since it doesnot have a barcode. Otherwise if you use a copy with a barcode, they might confuse the same with the VFS barcode and will create unnecessary problems.
