My sister and nephew are applying for a visitor visa this year. Her family (sister, b-i-l, niece and nephew) had applied in 2007 and got rejected. This time, only my sister and nephew are planning to visit me. My sister is a home maker and brother-in-law has a small business. However, he doesn't have enough income to show for IT returns. My sister does have property in her name as well as a decent amount of money in the bank as fixed deposit.
Is it better in their case to self pay the trip or is it better for me to sponsor the trip? I am wondering if the lack of Tax returns and proper documentation of income will be a hindrance when they say they can self pay for the trip. On the other hand, will my sponsoring the trip be taken as a possibility of them immigrating to the US?
Thanks in advance for your input/suggestions.
