  • USA Visitor Visa from Ukraine

We are planing to invite my wife's aunt from Ukraine for the summer for 2 weeks. I am a citizen but my wife is out of status or illegal commonly called. She came to USA 5 years ago with J1 visa. Then she changed it to B2 and then to F1. She was on F1 visa until 2014. We are preparing all the documents to send them to the immigration to legalize my wife. Obviously I am the one who is going to send the invitation for her aunt and pay all the expenses.
    1. My question is how much will my wife's illegal status effect the final decision?
    2. What are the chances for her aunt to get the visa?

P.S. About the aunt. She is at her late 40s. She has no family and no kids. She is only one who takes care of my wife's grandma. She has some kind of a civil service job, she makes $300 a month and some savings on her bank account. Also she had been to Germany around 5 times visiting her sister.

If you have any thoughts or advises about the situation above I would be very glad to hear them.

    1. Yes. Only problem is your wife's legal status. You need to send some of your wife's documents also to prove relation. Like photocopies of her passport and your marriage certificate.
    2. May be yes or no.

She doesn't have strong ties back to home country but she take care of your wife's grandma so that will be one plus point.
