Father's name differs by one alphabet in my passport and his passport

Hi,

I'm planning to apply visitor visa for my parents but im not sure if there would be an issue with name mismatch. My passport has my father's name as SASTRY where as when my parents applied their passport, my father's name was printed as SASTRI due to the fact that his schooling certificate has his name printed like that. Unfortunately my father just realized after nearly 45 years. All these years he had all his documents (pan card, adhar, voter card) as SASTRY and hence even my passport has SASTRY when i applied my passport 10 years ago. The problem with india passport office is that they are not willing to isssue him passport with SASTRY since it is not printed like that in his schooling certificate. Even though he approached a layer and got himself "same name affidavit " im not sure if that would be sufficient for VISA interviwe and i donot want to risk a Rejection. Let me know if anyone faced such a situation before or any advise

That should not be a problem. You can make one and the same person affidavit for him.
