  • Immediate help need -Visa interview on 15th Feb 2006

My Mother and Grandfather have their visitor visa interview this coming Wednesday 15th Feb 2006. We had sent the original Affidavit of support for them 3 months back. But now the travel agents told them yesterday that the latest Affidavit of Support is required from the sponsor. So we need to send them soon within 2 days and we dont know even if we send it by FED EX ,it can reach there in 3 days.
So we plan to fax it or send a scanned copy so that they can get it immediately.
Is is compulsory to show the original copy of the Sponsor's Affidavit of Support to the Consulate at Chennai ,Please suggest as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance so much.

    Regards,
    MSR

          Please advice-Immediate help needed

Also will this combination work out.Since my Father passed away 10 years back , and my Mother's visa got rejected twice when she went alone for the interview.
So this time , we wanted my Grandfather to accompany her to come here .
So my question is can my Husband sponsor for my Grandfather along with my Mother.
Or is there a formula that only Husband and Wife can go for the visitor visa interview.

          Please help.

          Thanks in advance

                    Please help

Also we dont know the reason why the visa was rejected last 2 times. Is there a way to find out the reason from the passport last page, because my Mother told they stampped something on the passport.
If we know the reason we can atleast be prepared not to repeat the mistake now.

                    Thanks,
                    MSR

Yes, they will stamp te passport with reason for rejection. If its 214(b), then it means not enough ties back home. So find out what it is and prepare well this time.

                        DS156 -Immediate help needed

Thanks so much Dhalia for your quick response.

The travel agents filled the DS 156 form 7 months back at the time of getting interview appoinment online and put my status as H4 without much info about us. But atually my stauts is I485- Adjustment of Status in Progress - I am using my EAD to work from past 1.5 years and my Husband is on H1B (which they have entered correctly )and he the sponsor for my Mother and Grandfather.
But now we corrected them and asked them to put my status as I485 in progress on DS 156 form for the interview they are going to attend this coming week.
So should they leave my info as H4 as the travel agent filled it during the time of tking appointment or is it ok to correct them and correct in the form that they will be taking to the interview.

                        Please advice.

                        Thanks,
                        MSR

Its always good to give correct details. If they can't change the original form, take a new printout and manually fill all details. Let the officer know of the changes. Indicate your status as AOS or EAD. Don't forget to tell ur parents whats AOS and EAD means as well.

                            Thanks - SO MUCH

Should they put it like this for me on DS156 form:

[U][B]I485- Adjustment of Status in Progress

                            or

                            AOS

which one does the Consulate prefer.

And also people say that if we are on Adjustment of Status the chances of getting the visa is less ,is that true, what is your opinion. My Husband is the sponsor and he is on H1B ,we have applied for our GC and I used my EAD to work and my Husband did not use his EAD ,he is still on H1B.

                            Thanks,
                            MSR

AOS will be enough. There is not much space on DS 156 to put long sentence for this column. Officers knows what it is. But ur parents should know that as well.

Being on AOS don't have any effect on VISA approval. It all depends on how well you do the interview and also luck. so prepare well and present your case. Rest is luck.
