Cover Letter Visiting Visa

Hello All,

In visitors visa required documents in this site, it has been specified to write a cover letter stating to consulate.

Does any one have a sample cover letter or can you please tell me what needs to be specified in that cover letter

i had booked an appointmet for my parents in janaury in kannada and i got date on may 22nd.after that i was keep on checking the earliest dates available. i fount one date earliar so i cancelled the may 22nd date and by the time i come to avilable date it was not there. so i booked the an date for june 1st 2006 .i do't remember properly weather i booked for kannada or english. till yesterday i thought i have booked in kannada only. but when i took the print out of interview letter it says english. my parents do't know fluent english. i want have translator for them . what can i do? please help me.

Folks, stick with the current appoitment if you can or take a risk of loosing the current one and gets a date past the current one.

Is Cover Letter required?

Hi,
My parents are going for Visitor Visa stamping. This website lists Cover Letter as one of the Visitor docs. I am curious if my parents really need the Cover Letter (highlighting the nature of the visit etc). Will it not be over communication to the US consulate officer since the sponsor letter also states the reason for inviting parents? I am wondering will this letter lead to more questions or will it answer most of the questions on its own and parents would be asked lesser questions.

Any thoughts and experiences on this.
