My dad applied for a business visa B2 back in 2009 and got the visa , he travelled for work here to the US and stayed with us for a couple of months. When he was getting visa , they asked if there if his wife or any other family member was also getting visa but my mom who had just gotten a hip replacement surgery didnt want one ( cause she thought we would convince her to travel ) . But now she is going to apply for a travel visa , can she apply as a dependant to the visa he has ? The only reason I ask is earlier when she travelled here about 10 years back when I was having a baby , my husband had a surgery and she stayed past her visa date . We applied for her visa extension and she left within a month, before the extension response was received . We then got a letter asking for her travel date and financial information to support her stay. My husband then called and told them that she had left the country already. They asked us send them stating the same with travel date and information. We did that but then they sent a letter saying they had insufficient documents and denied the extension. We called back and told them that the reason was invalid and sent all documents again but they said it was not necessary to reopen the case. Am hoping that this wont pose any problem when she goes back for stamping her visa .
