  • Question about parents visitor visa

I am planning to get a visa appointment for my parents.
I have a sister (married with kids) who is in India.
This is my first time my parents are coming to the US, but they have travelled outside the country earlier. Father still works as a consultant, mother is a house-wife.

Am planning to get the appointment in late June.

    My question is
    1) Should I apply for them together or separately?
    2) Same day or different day?
    3) What needs to be done to improve the odds of getting a 10-year visa

I need this help ASAP as I will be making the appointments on Thursday.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Satheesh

Its always better to apply for them together on the same date and time. Provide all docs, proofs to show that they will return to India.

      Hi,
Any reason why it is better this way.
The reason I posted this is because I have got varied suggestions about this.
Some people have suggested to apply for them separately (2 weeks to a month apart), father first and mother next. any reason why that would make sense?

      Thanks again,
      Satheesh

What if ones visa is approved and others rejected? If you go together, its (the decision) common to both unless they are ready to visit u evenif one gets rejected.

I dont know why you would want to go through the same process twice, if they have strong social & economic ties to India then it does not really matter if they apply jointly or individually, since they are married and only one applies then they will ask why the other person is not travelling, and later you are going to make that same person apply, I think it is better to apply togeather if they can document social & economic ties to India.
