  • B2 Visa help! ESTA implications

    Hi,

I am a UK citizen and qualify under the Visa Waiver Program (with a valid ESTA). I have recently applied for a B-2 Visa as I have travel plans that last 5-6 months and will be visiting friends over in the US (I currently travel there every 3 months or so for 7-10 days and have never overstayed).

Since applying/scheduling my Embassy interview I have read so many posts online which indicate that applying for the B2 Visa was a huge mistake on my part as the chances of it being approved are high unlikely. I have also read that if I try and cancel the application it will result in automatically being classed as 'denied'.

Any 'denial' will result in my ESTA being revoked and it will 6-12 months before they will grant me another one...?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

You can cancel your visa appointment. If you don't want to attend visa interview.

Your ESTA remains valid, even though visa denied but you could be asked about your B2 denial at the POE.

You can read faq for ESTA,
ESTA FAQ for Travel Authorization - FAQ for Electronic System for Travel Authorization - Visa Waiver Prorgram Travel Authorization FAQ
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.
