query about my visitor's visa

Good Day!

I am Mr. Guruprasad. I work and reside in Karnataka.

I have a visitor's visa (B1/B2) which is 6 month multi-entry. My visa was issued in Dec 2005 and is valid till Mid June 2006.

My query is that I need to visit the U.S in May 2006 and stay thru till October 2006 i.e., for a period of approximately six months. Should I again take an appointment at the U.S Consulate at Chennai in June 2006? Or should I proceed with my trip with this currently valid visa as it will still be valid when I would arrive in the U.S in May 2006 (My current visa is valid till June 2006)?

I would request you to kindly treat this query on a priority basis as the appointments at the Consulate need to be booked very much in advance for availability of dates.

U have to come here with current Visa and apply for extension while u are here.

You can enter US before your current visa expires. You can stay in US for the period the POE officer allows you to through I 94.
