  • Apply with brother or apply separately for B2 Visa?

    Hey everyone,

Needed some advise for B2 visit visa for the United States. My brother and I are planning to go to visit the Untied States over our winter vacations in December.
My brother is 19 years old and is attending university and I am currently 17 attending college. Neither of us are married. Majority of our close family is in our home country. Neither of us have ever been out of Pakistan before.

We are planning to go just for tourism/vacationing to New York during Christmas/New Years time for about 2-3 weeks only.
Would it be best if we each applied separately, or should we both apply together? Would it help if we applied together?

Also my father would be supporting us in our expenses, so I am assuming we will need to provide bank statements as well?
(My father owns a shop/showroom and we help him with the business.)

What would you all say are our chances of getting a B2 visit visa? Also, any other important major documents we should bring with us other than the usual?

    Thanks for the help

If you applying for a tourist visa without any support/sponsor from anyone in USA. You should be good to go.

If you have any of your relative in USA - better to have them sponsor your visit.

Both of you can apply together stating the correct purpose of the visit. Since you are only 17 right now, you'll need consent letter from your parent to allow you travel.

Officially, there is no such thing as sponsoring a tourist visa. An applicant must show ties to their home to have a chance, documents that show they must return home once the US visit is over.

Though many have presented invitation letters or letters of support from US persons, the chances of such letters seeing the light of day are remote at best.

Two male, teenaged brothers getting a visa would be tough. You'll have to convince the visa officer you won't overstay if granted a visa.
