Can I invite my wife at my graduation while her petition is being processed?

I am a US citizen and I recently started the petition for my wife, who lives out of the US. I will be graduating next May and I was wondering if I could invite her to attend my graduation ceremony, here in the US.
will that be possible, and how will this affect her petition?

She can apply for a tourist visa, but as an intending immigrant, her chances are slim. Alternatively, if she's in a vwp country, she could visit for a short duration.
