  • DS-160 form queries for B2 VISA

I already hold a US B1 VISA which I applied last year via my company. I am traveling to US again this year but my wife will be accompanying me this time. She does not hold a US VISA. I am applying a B2 VISA for here separately but I have a few queries for filling up DS-160 form. These are:

    1) She is dependent on me and I would be paying for her trip. So I answered 'Person/Entity Paying for Your Trip’ as spouse. Do I need to provide any sponsorship letter for the same.

    2) What should be the 'U.S. Point of Contact Information’ for her? Should it be my company address.

    3) Do I need to provide any proof from my side to prove that I am traveling to US and she is accompanying me. Any invite letter from company or booked tickets?

    4) Is it advisable to book tickets and hotel beforehand(as a proof) or should I wait for her VISA to be approved.

    5) We are planning to schedule a appointment around May. She is working right now but is resigning mid April. So while filling up DS-160, should I mention primary occupation as un-employed and mention the current company as previous employers. Does the answer to this question depend on current status while filing up the form or current status while interview.

IT MAY BE BENEFICIAL IF YOU PROVIDE HER A LETTER TO TAKE TO HER INTERVIEW AND DESCRIBING YOUR FINANCIAL ABILITY.

THAT'S AS GOOD AS ANY POSSIBLE POC.

      3) Do I need to provide any proof from my side to prove that I am traveling to US and she is accompanying me. Any invite letter from company or booked tickets?

NOPE, HER APPLICATION AND INTERVIEW SHOULD STAND ON HOW SHEPRESENTS HERSELF.

      4) Is it advisable to book tickets and hotel beforehand(as a proof) or should I wait for her VISA to be approved.

ONLY IF YOU CAN WITHDRAW RESERVATIONS IF SHE IS DENIED A VISA.

ON THE DS-160, PROVIDE HER CURRENT EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION. BUT AT HER INTERVIEW SHE SHOULD BE PREPARED TO EXPLAIN WHY SHE TERMINATED EMPLOYMENT.
