Need a tourist VISA.

my husband has B1/B2 Visa. can i get a VISA on that basis to travel to USA with him, since he is going for 2 weeks in a conference?

You cannot derive status from your hubby's b1/b2. You submit a new application and attend interview.

B2 is not a dependent visa for B1.

However you can apply for the B2 visa & appear for the interview stating the reason that you want to join your husband on his business trip & roam around the country.

Your application will be treated separately on the ground that you can really afford visit to USA & you've strong ties to your home country, so that you'll come back.

I know couple of instances where wife asked for B2 to accompany her husband on B1 & VO cancelled husband B1 as well - Hence just carry a color photocopy of husband's B1 - not the original visa :P

What if my hubby's company give an invite letter on my name to join the celebration party after conference or something like this. will that be helpful?
