I have a question, My parents file a petition for me to get into the US, the petition was then approved but, my parents failed to submit the said requirements or in other words they wasn't able to process it, it has been 4 years that the visa was approved, now i'm applying for j1 visa. Would that cause me to get a denied visa from consulate? Please help.

Yes, there are high chances - assuming your parents filed for your immigrant petition & you are now applying for non-immigrant visa.

However if you can put your case strongly (mentioning that you had an immigrant option, but you never wanted to migrate) - there are chances that you will get the visa.
