Income from rental properties

Hi all,
I am applying for Visitors visa for my mom. My father passed away 2 years ago and I tried to apply a year ago without any success. My elder brother stays in Australia and I am in USA on H1B. My mom was asked couple of questions about the family and children and she was refused the visa. We have rental properties in India and my mom does get income from them. I filled out her DS160, my question is can I show the income from rental properties under work section. Last time I just put home maker. She visited Australia and Singapore recently. I don't know if it makes any difference for the visa officer. She has all the property documents and bank statement.

How is getting income from rent "work"? Show it as income. If the income is high enough it is to her advantage. Her bigger issue (and probably the most important factor which resulted in her visa denial) is you and your brother being out of the country, which suggests her ties to India are potentially tenuous. She has to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the visa officer that she will be back after a short stay in America.
