  • parents going for visa:new passport:does embassy ppl have access to travel history?

    Hi,

My parents are going to chennai consulate for visa this week. Since both the children are in the US, I am worried.

My parents have visited the US in the past(during which time, I was in India),
Now, since their passport got expired, they have new passports.

The main argument my parents have is that they have visited US 4 times in the past and always gone back in time (except for the visa extension the 4th time). but since the passport is new now, such travel history is not present. I wonder if the consulate officers have any other way to check their travel history other than passport.

And would the last trip visa extension come in the way?

Kindly send any thoughts/advice regarding this,
    Thanks,
    Mythili

Of course they have the history !

Even if they have new passports, their names, address etc is all the same so they can easily pull up the history. Also remember that even though new passport is issued you are suppose to carry your old passport along with the new one. In fact they usually staple them together so that the full history is available.
