Hello everyone,
First I would like to thank everyone on this forum to post such wonderful tips and experiences for their Visa interviews. My parents appeared for their visa interview together at Mumbai Consulate in India and both their Visas were approved. The visa officer kept the passports and wished them (my parents) a good day.
However, my Father received an email about his passport ready for pickup by end of day and my mother has not received any e-mail yet for her passport. I also checked the CEAC website for status and it shows Visa Issued for my Father's DS-160 (which was under Administrative Processing after the visa was approved) and my mother's DS160 status on the CEAC website is still under Administrative Processing.
My father is the sponsor of the entire trip to US. Visa interview was in english language and here are the questions asked and answers given.
Father(F) & Mother: Good Morning
Visa Officer (VO): Good morning, going to visit your son in US?
F: Yes (and father handed the invitation letter from me)
VO: WHat does your son do in US?
F: Works
VO: What visa is he on?
F: [Replied]
VO: So are you going to attend his convocation ceremony?
F: Yes
VO: Where did he study?
F: [Replied]
VO: Did he take loan
F: No
VO: Then how he managed?
F: Scholarship and rest I paid
VO: Any son / daughter in India?
F: No
VO: Are you retired?
F: Yes
VO: How much are your finances like?
F: [Replied]
VO: Tell me company you worked and rank also when you retired?
F: [Replied]
VO: DO you have own home in India?
F: [Replied]
VO: Thanks, I will keep the passports. You have a nice day.
Mother was not asked any question.
So, is this normal to have the visa stamped later for one of the passports although their interview was together? Any ideas?
Thanks.
