Need help regarding visa expiry date

Hi.

I am looking for some help regarding my mother-in-laws' visa expiry date.

My MIL's 3 year B2 visa expires in late July and she is planning a trip to the US from India in late April.

1. Normally, will she get a 6 months I-94 (upto Oct 2006) or will it be limited to the visa expiry date?

2. When asked at the POE about the duration of stay, is it advisable to say 6 months or 3 months?

3. Is it better if she travels with an open return ticket?

4. If the I-94 date is given as the visa expiry date, can I apply for an extension for her?

I would appreciate any advice/suggestions that can be given.

Hi.

A small additional query.

Does the POE make a difference? i.e., will it make a difference if the POE is Newark or New York or Chicago?
