  • Urgent help needed, Visa interview on 14th April 2016

    Hello,

I quit engineering in the third year, because i was passionate about music. Since then till today i am learning, performing music( its been 5 yrs). Since 2 years i have sinus problem, because of which i am not able to do singing. I have gone through many treatments here in India but non of them was able to give me complete cure.
Doctor advised me to get surgery, but if i undergo surgery i will have problems with my singing voice so i would like to cure my problem without surgery.
So, i have found it this technique in USA, where my condition is taken care without surgery. And i have talked to the doctor and i have gotten a appointment letter from her, in which she agreed to treat me.
And, I have started my own company in the month of december last year, which is running well now!!

My question is :- While filling the DS-160 form they ARE asking me present/occupation ?

In music i have not been earning anything till now.

so what should i fill in the occupation?

If i fill in Business , then they might ask me after completing 12th std (6 yrs back) what were you doing?? (Because the business is started just now 3 months back)

If i fill in Artist/ :- My visa agent says, you will have less chance of getting visa.

The only reason i am going to USA for sinus treatment, which i could have easily gotten here with surgery is because of voice(singing) .
Will it not be a cheating if i put business in my primary occupation, when i am doing music since many years . I am not earning anything from it though but i have lot of proofs showing here i am a musician.
So I AM REALLY CONFUSED ...PLEASE HELP ME OUT GUYS. I DONT HAVE MUCH TIME....AND UPON THAT I HAVE TO GET VISA, BECAUSE THIS SINUS PROBLEM HAS COMPLETLY FROZEN MY SINGING CARREER.

You should always be truthful to the VO.

So explain the same story in short to the VO during the interview. To support the same, you can get a letter from your USA doctor stating the reason clearly. The letter should clearly mention that the same treatment cannot be done in India.

Since medical treatment is way costly in USA, you'll need to provide evidence that you can support yourself financially in USA & after you return back to India.

    Hope this helps.

Is this treatment not available anywhere else outside the US? Because medical treatment is very, very expensive in the US. You may be asked to show evidence of funds.

Just be honest and fill in the response that answers to the best of your ability.. because only you know better than anyone else what you do.

      Good luck at the interview!
