I want to take the visa appointment for my parents and I want to know if I should take the appointment at the same time for both my parents or should I take it at different times as I am their only child(no brothers or sisters) and my father is retired and my mother is a housewife and they have their own house and fixed deposits in the bank. They have not applied for the visa before. My husband is working for an Indian company who has sent us to the US on L1 visa for 2 years and will that make any difference?

clarification on visa appointment
Since I am the only child for my parents is the chance of their getting the visa lesser? Is it also better to take the appointment for my mother and father on different dates so that they can show better ties with India by saying that they will be travelling alone and their spouse will be back in India?

It does not make any sense to reject for parents with only one child. This has to end. I dont see any rationale in this. If they really want people not to overstay, they should have a tracking system to see who all are living in the country illegally, but not giving visa just because they assume things about people is ridiculous. If they continue to do this, no person who is the only child would want to live here away from their parents, with no hope of being able to spend precious time with their parents. I guess all the people who are suffering and have suffered in the past have to voice their concerns and make the people who made these stupid rules change their mind.
