First time applying for visitor visa(tourist, B2)

Hi,

I m planning to invite my parents, sister along with her son and my brother to USA. I am on green card and inviting them for the first time to visit USA. I understand that this visitor visa is completely based on luck even though we have complete documentation. I would like to take your suggestion before my family goes for interview. Would you suggest everyone to attend the visa interview at a time or shall I ask my parents to go first and then my sister, nephew and brother. Please suggest and I really appreciate your reply.

No.. getting a visa is based on convincing the CO that the applicant will return to their home country. COs make a determination based on information in the ds160, and face to face interview.

My nephew is very much interested in visiting USA always he talks about places here. Though I am here For some good time, I never invited them to visit USA. This is the first time. Hope everything goes fine and they could just visit me atleast one time. Keeping fingers crossed. So thought of checking here for any valuable suggestions and am new to this forum. I agree and they definitely want to go back to home country as she has job, my nephew got school and also some additional documents that my family members can show. Sometime it does matter, since its a family - it depends on each individual case.

The onus is on the applicant to prove that they will go back out of USA.

After Submitting DS-160 form and paying visa fees is there any time limit to block an appointment. I was just looking for a right date and was waiting on. Someone just told me that after submitting DS-160 form within one week we are supposed to block appointment. Is that really true, as I didn't find any such rule online. Please suggest. Thank you!

Your form will be saved in the system for 30 days. after that it will be removed from their system.

Thanks again ... Still, I am confused

I believe that 30 days limit is before submitting DS 160 form. I thought if we do not submit DS 160 form within 30 days either we need to take a backup of .dat file or submit new one as it wil be not saved on their system anymore once crossed 30 days.

Oh .. sorry for the confusion. After submitting also you'll need to book appointment within 30 days of submission.
