Can i visit US on my personal expenses while i have B1/B2 Tourist visa

Hello
i have B1/B2 multiple entery visa which i got with the help of my cousin's invitation letter, now he is not interested to invite me but i hv already got the visa. so i wish to visit US on my way without his help.
so can i visit US with my own plan? can i buy my flight ticket & book hotel? as i will not stay with my cousin home now. should i carry invitation letter on entry port?
please guide me
