  • Visitor visa B2 :Re-visiting with in 6 months

My in-laws are planning to visit US in end of June for 4 months trip, with in 5 months after their previous departure. Their previous stay was for almost 6 months ( 10 days less). Would this be any problem?

    Background:

They got their visitor visa in May 2013: Never stayed more then 6 months.

1st visit 2013 aug 1st week to 2014 jan last week
    2nd visit 2014 aug1st week to 2014 dec1st week
    3rd visit 2015 july 3rd week to 2016 Jan 3rd week.

Out of 3 years of their visitor visa they stayed approx 14 months here in US.

    Please help!!

    Thank you in advance.

Ideally they should stay out of USA for the same or more amount of time they stayed in USA.

They stayed for 6 months during their last visit, so they should stay in their home country for 6 months.

However, there is no such published rule anywhere.

If previous stays continually approach maximum authorized, they could be restricted to shorter durations on future attempts. Remember, B-2s are for short visits.

But that didn't happened with her, as mentioned earlier.

              adarsh007,

Have them stay in home country for 6+ months before the next visit.
