Visitor Visa for my mother

Hi

I am currently on F-1 Visa. My sister and brother-in-law is on H1 Visa in USA. My mother is having a visa interview in some days and my brother-in-law is sponsoring my mother. Will there be any problem if the Visa Officer asked that where are your other children. My one sister is in India and I and my other sister is in USA. I mean will my presence here will create problems for her visa?

Your mother has to answer truthfully where exactly each of her children are. That is the best way to do.

But is it true that it can create problems for her visa? She is a retired government officer. She has worked for 40 years. I mean do they consider this thing like I am being here and because of this the VO can deny the visa.

Every applicant must truthfully answer interviewer questions; the officer then makes a decision on whether to approve or deny the visa.

Yes, VO may think that your mother is an potential immigrant.

However, they do have systems in place to track you & your sister.

Hence it is always suggested to tell the truth & avoid any bigger problem like "ban" than "rejection".
