    arrival date in DS-156

    Does the arrival date we put in DS-156 affect how Visa is granted? In other words the Visa validity range starts right from the date we specify? I had put the date as May 8th, but now intending to arrive sooner, that is on May 1st itself. Can anyone please tell me if Visa granted would have validity starting right from May 8th itself or they would issue it starting from the month, May?

    Its just a tentative date. Visa validity has nothing to do with that.

      Generally if visa is granted, the effective date is the date of visa stamping. During valid visa period, you can travel.
