Parents self sponsoring vs us sponsoring their travel

My parents have an interview on May 9th. In DS 160 application, they have given their name on person paying for the trip. My husband and I are legal resident of US and have good earning and want to sponsor their travel. In the interview can my parents claim that we sponsoring their trip considering they have already put self sponsor in the application?

It's better they use their own names for trip funding.

They need to be straightforward at interview about whoever is paying for their trip.
There is no sponsoring a visitor visa, unlike an H1 or spousal visa; you can pay for their travel.. and there's the distinction.

B2 visa cannot be sponsored, you can provide affidavit of support (I134), but that won't make you legally bound to pay for their visit, hence it is of no value.

Best will be to have them sponsor themselves & prove during the interview that they are happy in their home country & just want to visit you for a short period.

Proofs to self sponsor Visitor's Visa

Hi All,

I am US on L1 visa and have scheduled Visitor's visa interview for my mother - a homemaker with no income. My father is retired for last 2 years but he is not applying for Visa this time(i hope that is not a concern).
We have mentioned in the application that the Travel expenses are being paid by Mother i.e. self. Now my question is - What all can she show as a proof to be able to pay the expenses for travel. She has a property in her name, and fw other investments like NSC and Fixed deposits. Are these documents valid to be shown as proof.
